12 out of 16 Germany’s federal states no longer have room for Ukrainian refugees, RND writes

Published on

The German municipalities are increasingly imposing bans on accepting new refugees

Reportedly, the number of refugees has already approached one million – 980 thousand people (with an increase of about 900 people per day). Thus, the German municipalities are increasingly imposing bans on accepting new refugees. Migration offices fear that they will have to use gymnasiums as places for housing again.

There is another trend – in regions where there are still enough places to stay, the limits for social assistance are running out. This is the situation in Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia, where some communities have already imposed a moratorium on reception of Ukrainians.

Bavaria is considered to be more suitable, but even there “the government has pushed the accepting programs to the limit.” According to the Bavarian Interior Ministry, the central reception centers are 102.7% full.
