The U.S. has escalated its anti-Iran rhetoric since May 2018 when President Donald Trump withdrew from the UN-backed 2015 nuclear agreement. Irans President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday warned that war with Iran would be the mother of all wars. Trump reacted by threatening Iran with consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before.
