Arab proxy wars
Following months of souring relations between Abu Dhabi and Mogadishu, on April 8, Somali security forces stormed a UAE plane at Mogadishu airport and seized over $9million in cash. In response, the UAE ended its military training program in the country. Many believe the UAE is doing this because Somalia refused to take sides when a Saudi-led coalition targeted Qatar in an ongoing struggle for regional influence.
Armenia in change
Armenia is undergoing major a major political upheaval. The post of prime minister remains vacant in the former Soviet republic after mass anti-government protests forced the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan. He stepped down after Armenians accused him of trying to cling on to power. Opposition leader, Nikol Pashinyan spearheaded the efforts to force the premier out of office. Observers are watching closely to see how Armenia will move forward from the current crisis.
