As the US East Coast entered its third day after getting hit by the deadly Winter Storm Riley, some coastal areas in New Jersey's Atlantic City remained flooded on Sunday.
While the death toll reached nine on Sunday, approximately 1.5 million households remained without power.
In Atlantic City, the water level remained over ankle in many coastal neighborhoods. Some evacuated residents chose to go back to their houses on foot just to check on the level of damage.
While some residents were surprisingly lucky with no waterlogging inside their houses, others were not so fortunate after all.
According to local media, tens of thousands of maintenance workers are tirelessly working to restore electricity in the affected areas.
