Independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accused the Ministry of sport and Sports training center of support of doping program. This was stated in the report of WADA.
According to the document, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation directly participated in the concealment of consumption of prohibited drugs by Russian athletes during the Olympic games in Sochi. The Commission under the leadership of Richard McLaren stated that they could allegedly accuse Russian Ministry of Sports of the involvement in the doping program.
“The Sports Ministry directed, controlled and held manipulations with the test results of athletes and exchanged them with the active participation and assistance of the FSB and Sports training center for national teams of Russia in Moscow and Sochi,” the report says.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov appealed to the IOC and WADA. He noted that the requirement of some countries to exclude Russia from the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro looked like the formation of the coalition. The appeal from the United States and Canada gives cause to reflections about the independence of the WADA report.
