Independent Deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament, Anna Gopko, believes that Ukraine is ready to replace Britain in the European Union. The politician shared her opinion in Facebook.

“Britain is leaving — Ukraine is coming? To save Europe as the continent,” Anna Gopko wrote. She noticed that now it was the best time for Ukraine to join the European bloc. “Peace in Ukraine will not be interesting for Europeans. So Berlin should take a lead and get Ukraine after losing Britain,” the Ukrainian Deputy said.

Anna Gopko noted that if Europe doesn’t meet Ukraine halfway, it may turn away from Europe. According to her, the EU is delays granting of visa-free regime to Ukraine. As a result, the Ukrainians will change their mind about joining the EU.

The results of the referendum showed that the majority of the UK citizens (51,9%) voted for Brexit. Earlier, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expressed his hope that Britain would remain in the United Europe, despite the results of the referendum.
