NATO does not hesitate to shift responsibility for escalation of tension to Moscow which only responds to the hostile actions of Western partners. In particular, Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, is outraged by unexpected inspection of combativity of the Russian army.
According to him, these actions of Moscow “makes the respect of obligations for informing other partners about such military exercises impossible”.
“One of the problems of these unexpected exercises is that we can not fulfill the agreement of the Vienna document on informing the other party about the conduct of such exercises,” Stoltenberg said on Wednesday in Brussels.
“Unexpected army exercises undermine transparency and predictability. It becomes impossible to ensure effective transparency and monitoring of the exercise,” a disgruntled Secretary General of NATO expressed his opinion.
“It’s part of a trend, we are keeping an eye on it for a long time, that is why NATO has actively supported efforts to strengthen the mechanisms we have, to ensure transparency and predictability, including the modernization of the Vienna document. We must also understand that it is necessary to provide inspection and monitoring of such exercises,” Secretary General of NATO said.
