Russian State Duma called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to impose sanctions against U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, as well as other persons involved in the violation of human rights of Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko. In 2010, the pilot was illegally kidnapped by U.S. intelligence service in Liberia, and then sentenced for 20 years on charges of drug smuggling.
The appropriate request was addressed to the head of the country from the deputies of the Communist party. They have been supported by their colleagues from the parties “United Russia” and “A fair Russia”.
According to the authors of this parliamentary initiative, the main figurant of “Yaroshenko list” must become the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, who served as Secretary of State at the time of kidnapping. It would have been impossible to carry out the operation of Yaroshenko’s detainment and imprisonment without her approval. Moreover, Yaroshenko became a victim of American judicial system in circumvention of all international agreements of the U.S. with a third country. This might be a precedent in international law.
In the deputy request to the Russian President, as well as to Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, several dozens of Communist party deputies called upon to make a “Yaroshenko list” and consider tough measures of diplomatic, economic and political pressure on persons whose names would be included into the list.
“Americans love to kick up a fuss about human rights violations around the world, and then they spit on those rights with a high bell tower: they kidnap, torture and imprison anyone they want and wherever they want. It is clear that weaker countries will be silent in response to the illegal persecution of their citizens by the USA. But Russia is a strong country. A country that can and should protect its citizens around the world. It is necessary to raise the topic of Yaroshenko’s at all negotiations with Americans, increasing pressure on them through sanctions mechanisms,” the Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist party, Sergey Obukhov, says.
