“We believe that the agreement of the Russian Federation and the USA on ceasefire will be made,” Riyad Hadad says. 

Syria relies on on the fulfillment of the agreements between Moscow and Washington on settling the situation in the country and fully supports the position of Russia on this issue. This was announced by the Syrian Ambassador in Moscow Riyad Haddad.

“Damascus fully supports Moscow in the matter of the truce,” the diplomat says. “We believe that the agreement of the Russian Federation and the USA on ceasefire will be made soon.“

On February 22, Russia and the United States issued a joint statement announcing that the ceasefire in Syria would come into force on 27 February at 00:00 time of Damascus (01:00 GMT). The truce will apply to all parties of the conflict, except for ISIS and “Jabhat al-Nusra“, as well as other organizations which are recognized by the UN Security Council as “terrorist”.
