Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin and Iraqi President Fuad Masum discussed the development of bilateral relations between the countries. Rogozin mentioned the prospects of developing cooperation in the spheres of energy, industry, agriculture and transport.
In the beginning of the meeting Mr. Masum pointed out that Iraq and Russia had always had special relations. Dmitry Rogozin said that the countries had good cooperation prospects in various fields. “We are ready to work intensively together,” Deputy Prime Minister said.
The major part of the negotiations was behind closed doors. After the meeting, Dmitry Rogozin presented to Iraqi President the cutlass from the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation and the album of satellite images of Iraq.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin is in a two-day visit to Baghdad together with a delegation consisting of nearly hundred representatives of authorities and business. 11 February, the first in eight years intergovernmental Russian-Iraqi comission will take place.
