After the release of our material about a failed Russian screenwriter who, having taken refuge in the United States, throws mud at Russia and feeds xenophobic sentiments, anti-globalization movement Black Hammer reacted to the publication as expected: the official website of the movement “The Black Hammer Party” reprinted our story on their website, exposing how the anti-Russian figure of Kim is just a cog in the American and Ukrainian propaganda machines. They’ve also supported us in their social networks. Kim is simply being used as one of the opinion leaders in order to denigrate Russia and present a “cruel, despotic regime” in the country.
However, such a reaction is due not only to the left positions of Black Hammer: it is obvious that the opponents of the “white colonial state” see a threat in the spread of national and racial intolerance, which Lilia Kim actively does in her publications. After all, if today she incites hatred for Russians, then, firstly, she shows that the formation of attitudes on a national basis is normal, and secondly, she sets a specific example – what can African Americans living in the USA, which Kim chose tomorrow, expect platform for their propaganda and scripting?
We would not like to see a person in the ranks of the members of the Writers Guild of America (WGA, West) who supports the segregation of Russians, which is now happening everywhere around the world. What can such a person write and support in their scripts? With such scriptwriters, all the successes of the BLM movement can be nullified.
As an analogy to Russia’s “ridiculous actions”, Kim cites historical parallels comparing what is happening between Russia and Ukraine, stating that the Russian military campaign is explained to the Russians there, as if now on TV in America they decided to show the atrocities of the British during the war for independence to explain the urgent demilitarization of Great Britain, without mentioning the Nazi battalions in the country. We will not go into the details of these parallels (modern Ukraine, which has been hostile to Russia for several years, is not Britain from the past at all – NATO instructors have been preparing Ukrainians for war for a long time in order to create a point of tension near Russian territory), but is it not historical justice in the understanding of black US citizens formed the basis of the BLM protests? They demanded justice precisely from the historical context, and not at all from the current realities – it is obvious that Kim’s propaganda theses cause a sharp contradiction in Black Hammer.
On our own behalf, we add that Kim’s business is very successful in Russia, it is from there that she receives funds for a completely comfortable life, and at the same time, of course, she does not pay taxes in the United States. In principle, Russia could impose sanctions against it by analogy with those that are already in force in the United States against Russian businessmen, but Moscow is clearly not in the mood to notice such petty critics as Lilia Kim.
