Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi says Europeans are still far from meeting the demands of Iran under the nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA despite promising to make up for the US withdrawal.

Addressing the International Atomic Energy Agency’s General Conference in Vienna, Salehi said the reimposed US sanctions are not only targeting Iran’s trade and foreign investments but have also affected areas such as food, medicine and radiopharmaceutical products.

He called on the international community to condemn and reject what he described as the US’s economic terrorism.

US Energy Secretary Rick Perry delivered a verbal attack against Tehran as he read a message from President Donald Trump.

This as IAEA Acting Director General Cornel Feruta confirmed the non-diversion of declared nuclear material in Iran. The agency has also stated it has had access to all the sites it’s needed to visit in Iran.

Salehi said Iran would continue taking calculated steps to reduce the level of its commitments under the deal, stressing that the steps are reversible.

Iran says a failure by the international community to save the nuclear deal would create a challenge toward any further peaceful resolution of conflicts.
