In the United States, the unemployment rate has sunk to the lowest level since December 19-69. Employers added over 260-thousand jobs in April, making the unemployment rate fall to 3.6 percent from 3.8 in March. Some of the strongest sectors for hiring included the construction industry and the health care. Some sectors also lost jobs, including the retail sector hit by store closings and the auto industry which was affected by closing plants. Economists however say the latest drop in the unemployment rate was for the wrong reason. The say the decline stemmed from more people quitting their search for work.
