Iran is a major player in resolving the Syria crisis, says an analyst, adding that it is one of the countries that is preventing an “absolute chaos” in the Middle East.
“I think Iran is one of the countries that is preventing an absolute, complete chaos in the Middle East and so Iran is a major player in that avenue along with Lebanon. Had it not been for Iran, then I think Syria would have been belonging to Israel by now because Iran is the only country that stops [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu from his aspirations of redrawing the map in the Middle East,” Riaz Karim, director of Veritas Centre for Strategic Studies told Press TV in an interview on Saturday.
“The United States and Israel are trying to lock Iran from participating in that area so they can do what they need to do … There is no way of isolating Iran … that’s not going to happen,” he added.
