According to the German press, in the eighties the Bundesnachrichtendienst (the German Federal Intelligence Services — BND) got hold of a sample of Novichok through an ex-Soviet defector.
It is highly likely that Germany would shared this product with the United States and the United Kingdom in order to develop methods of protections and anti-poisons.
This revelation contradicts the theory immediately put forward by Theresa May’s government that only Russia was able to produce the nerve poisoning agent that it had presented as the “Novichok”.
