President Donald Trump has rejected Republican Senator Bob Corker’s recent allegations that his policies could lead to a Third World War.
“We’re on the right path right now, believe me,”
Trump pointed the finger at the previous US presidential administrations, which he said were on the wrong path.
“All you have to do is take a look. If you look over the last 25 years through numerous administrations, we were on a path to a very big problem — a problem like this world has never seen,” he pointed out.
Earlier, Corker, the current chairman of the Senate’s Committee on Foreign Relations, told The New York Times that Trump’s impulsive policy risks setting the country “on the path to World War III.”
The two’s war of words started last Sunday, when Trump accused the Republican senator from Tennessee of being “a negative voice in the way of our great agenda,” as well as allegedly “begging” Trump to endorse him for re-election and not having “the guts.”
Corker responded by saying that “It’s a shame the White House has become an adult day care center.”
The US President’s criticism of the senator from his own party comes as Corker has more than once slammed Trump’s policies, including those related to the Iran nuclear deal and the North Korean crisisas well as his response to the violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
