‘Russian and U. S. presidents Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama may discuss the settlement of the Syrian conflict at the G20 summit’, the spokesperson of Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said.
According to Peskov, at the moment a separate full meeting of Putin and Obama is not yet planned. ‘However, we can suggest that Putin and Obama will have an opportunity to speak and discuss the details of the Syrian settlement on the sidelines of the summit’, the Kremlin’s representative said. He explained that Syria would be the main subject of their meeting.
Earlier, it has become known that U.S. and Turkish presidents Barack Obama and Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold a discussion at the summit. The main issue of the discussion is the extradition of opposition leader Fethullah Gülen, whom Ankara suspects of organizing the coup attempt in Turkey.
