The President of Russia Vladimir Putin has established an interdepartmental operational headquarters for security at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 World Cup. This decree is available on the portal of legal information.
The document affirms the statute and structure of 16 persons of the operational headquarters. Among them are the Deputy Heads of the Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Internal Affairs, General Prosecutor’s Office, Investigation Service, Foreign Intelligence Service, National Guard of Russia, Federal Security Guard Service, the Federal Air Transport Agency, Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage, etc. The head of the structure is the Deputy Director of FSB.
The main football event of the planet will be held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July. The World Cup matches will take 11 cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Kaliningrad, Saransk, Samara, Sochi, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg and Volgograd.
Earlier, the Russian leader promised that the World Cup will be held at the highest level, giving the fans the atmosphere of a grandiose holiday. He expressed confidence that Russia would provide the highest level of the organization.
