The Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that the meeting of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vladimir Putin could take place in late July or early August. The Kremlin does not exclude that negotiations can take place in August.

According to Turkish channel NTV, Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced that the meeting of Russian and Turkish presidents could be scheduled for late July — early August. He also said that he invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, to visit Antalya.

Earlier, Çavuşoğlu told journalists in Sochi that Putin and Erdogan agreed to meet at the G20 summit in China. However, the Turkish President offered to hold talks before the trip to China. “We are working in this direction, we will carry out the necessary consultations at various levels for preparing such a meeting,” the Turkish Minister said.

Previously, Russian newspaper “Kommersant” reported that the meeting of Putin and Erdogan might be held in August this year in Sochi. The leaders of two countries may meet earlier if the Foreign Ministers can agree to negotiate earlier.
