Russia offers the USA to start together to carry out strikes at targets of terrorists in Syria from May 25. This was stated by the Minister of Defence of Russia, Sergey Shoigu, TASS reports.
“We offer the U.S., as the co-chair of the Syrian international support group Syria, from May 25 to begin joint actions of the Russian space forces and the coalition led by the United States to plan strikes,” he said.
The Minister explained that the question is about the attacks on the troops of Jabhat al-Nusra, illegal armed groups which do not support the cessation of hostilities, as well as the caravans with arms and ammunition, and armed troops which are illegally crossing the Syrian–Turkish border. He added that the strikes should not affect the civilian objects and settlements.
From February 27, in Syria a regime of a ceasefire agreement has been in action which was reached with assistance from Russia and the United States. According to it, any military actions, including air strikes of the Syrian and Russian air forces and the US-led coalition, will continue only regarding groups recognized by the UN security Council as terrorist .
