The collection of signatures for resignation of Mikheil Saakashvili from the post of Governor of Odessa region has begun in Odessa. The news agency TASS reports that more than 30 thousand people have supported thу initiative.
According to local media, the author of the initiative was a Verkhovna Rada Deputy from “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” Dmitry Golubov. He stated that “during the last year Saakashvili did nothing to improve peoples’ lives, nothing changed for the better, and therefore the politician should resign”.
“He has not built a single metre of the motorway Odessa – Reni, he failed to implement custom plan, his counselors are completely corrupted who extort money from businessmen,” Golubov said. “Extortion, bribes and corruption – it is all that Saakashvili is famous for.”
In just two weeks more than 30 thousand people have signed a petition for the resignation of Mikheil Saakashvili. Meanwhile, Ukrainian journalists report that not so long ago Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has allegedly signed a decree on the resignation of Saakashvili with “open date“. However, later the press service of the President refuted this information.
