Sanctions against 146 individuals and 37 legal entities from Russia have been extended until September 15. The decision will be published in the Official journal of the European Union on Saturday.

The EU has decided to extend individual sanctions against the citizens and legal entities of Russia and Ukraine until 15 September who are considered by the EU responsible for “undermining the territorial integrity” of Ukraine. The decision will be published in the Official journal of the European Union on Saturday.

The European Union has adopted a package of individual sanctions aimed at “countering the threats to the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine“. After the referendum on the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the restrictive measures have been extended several times. The current sanctions will be effective until 15 March 2016 that include assets freeze and travel ban to the EU in respect of 149 individuals and 37 legal entities, including Russian businessmen and officials, as well as the leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s republics.

In addition to individual sanctions, the EU has imposed sectoral restrictive measures against Russia, the so-called economic sanctions, which will have effect until 31 July 2016.
