The settlement of the Syrian crisis and the refugee problem in the European Union became topics of a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

Greek Prime Minister appreciates greatly the efforts of Moscow to ensure security in the Syrian Arab Republic.

“During the discussion of international problems, the main attention was paid to the Syrian crisis with emphasis on the need of the ceasefire in the country. The Russian President said that ensuring of the truce was a key factor to normalize the internal situation in the country and improve the humanitarian situation in the region, as well as an important step towards political settlement of the Syrian crisis,” the Kremlin source reports.
