Some actions of the Ukrainian authorities violate the rights of Crimeans, according to the 13th report of the monitoring mission of Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights which was issued on Thursday.
The document covers the events in Ukraine in the period from 16 November, 2015, to 15 February, 2016.
“The rights of the Crimean residents continue to be under negative impact of certain decisions of the Ukrainian government, including their access to banking services on the Ukrainian mainland. The actions of pro-Ukrainian activists on the mainland, such as the attack on the power system, have affected vulnerable segments of the population in Crimea,” the document says.
The monitoring mission of the OHCHR also pointed put the systematic violations of the rights of the Crimean Tatars, allegedly by the Russian authorities. At the same time the document stresses that the mission of the OHCHR has not received access to the Crimea, and the report data is based on the firsthand evidence.
