The Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the Kurdish forces, as well as numerous Sunni groups in Eastern Syria, have joined the agreement on a ceasefire in the country.
“It has been already done by the Democratic Union Party and other groups of the Syrian Kurds,” the Minister says, during a press conference on Friday in Moscow.
“We have information that numerous groups of Syrian opposition on the east of the country, including the Sunni groups, have got in touch with the Russian military,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
On February 22, the U.S. and Russia offered the parties of the military conflict in Syria to stop fighting from 00:00 (Damascus time) on 27 February. This offer doesn’t apply to ISIS and“Jabhat al–Nusra” as well as other organizations which have recognized by the UN as “terrorist”.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Kurdish militia should not be a subject of the cease-fire in Syria.
