Moscow and Washington have begun the exchange of data on truce in Syria. According to Zakharova, Russia is satisfied with work on the joint Russian-American statement on ceasefire in Syria which will come into force on February 27, 2016.
The official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry Mariya Zakharova says that cooperation with the American side is very active. Also, they are developing contacts between the military of the countries, that was confirmed by Mariya Zakharova at a briefing in the Foreign Ministry.
“Now it is important not to lose the momentum and to work in a very constructive way,” Zakharova says. “Of course,we are not going to end our fight against terrorism, we are talking about truce between Damascus, opposition groups that need to communicate.”
“Different armed groups operating in Syria should register at special centers, either in Russian or American,” Zakharova reminds.
“Those groups which do not declare such an intention will not have relation to the truce. Everything is done on the basis of the Munich communique which clearly prescribes this mechanism. There should be no chance for any,” Zakharova says.
