Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan will take part in the closed ceremony celebrating the first dipatch of S-300 to Iran, Sputnik reported.
According to him, Dehgan Hossain will attend the ceremony before Russia sends S-300 on Thursday in Astrakhan. Russian Air Defense Missile System is expected to be delivered to Iran by Caspian sea from the Astrakhan ports.
Earlier, the Iranian Minister said that Tehran intended to continue military technical cooperation with Russia.
In 2007, Moscow and Tehran signed a contract to supply S-300 at a cost of approximately $ 900 million. In April 2015 the Russian leader Vladimir Putin signed a decree removing the ban on the delivery of these systems to Iran. Earlier, the Iranian Defense Minister also stated that the first dispatch of Russian S-300 would be delivered to Iran during the first quarter of 2016.
