Poroshenko to force Yatsenyuk to resign – media

Published on

The President of Ukraine is going to sack the current Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk. “Ukrainian truth” got this information from the source in the faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko”.

“He [Poroshenko] doesn’t think, whether to sack Yatsenyuk or not. He is thinking over who will come after him. Once he finds the candidate with the voices, Yatsenyuk will resign,” the interlocutor of the edition said.

According to the newspaper, the main candidates for this post are the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Groysman, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Turchynov and the Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili. Several sources of “the Ukrainian truth” also reported that Poroshenko had another candidate, but his name was unknown.

“The President’s tactics will be simple — it should be the establishment of permanent crises. He has a big faction, they will complain that we cannot “reload” the government,” according to one of the deputies from the “People’s Front whose leader is Yatsenyuk.

A few days ago, on 7 February, the Prime Minister called for politicians not to threaten him with resignation of his government and his team. “We came here to work for real changes in the country. And now it is not about personalities, but about the specific value of things. About the program on economic stabilization of the situation in the country and political stability in the Ukrainian state,” he said.

On 3 February the former Ukraine’s Minister of Economy and Trade Aivaras Abromavičius announced his resignation. According to him, he didn’t want to be a cover for outright corruption. After that, Poroshenko said that he didn’t want the Minister to leave his post.
