The Russian President is not planning to have any contacts with the President of Turkey Recep Erdoğan, according to “Interfax” with a reference to the report of the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
January 30, Erdogan said that he wanted to talk to Putin in connection with another incident with the Russian aircraft. Earlier, the Turkish foreign ministry announced that on January 29 the Russian military aircraft SU-34 had incurred into Turkish airspace over Gaziantep province (on the border with Syria) and had been there for 20-25 seconds, despite warnings in English and Russian languages.
The Turkish foreign ministry accused Moscow of escalating tensions between the countries and held responsibility for possible consequences. The Russian Foreign Ministry and the Defense Ministry denied the alleged infringement by the Russian plane of Turkish air space. A representative of the Defense Ministry of Russia, Igor Konashenkov, called Turkish “unfounded propaganda.”
