During a telephone conversation with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Vladimir Putin invited British specialists to participate in deciphering of the cockpit voice recorder from the Russian Su-24 which had been shot down in Syria on the 24 of November.

This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

Putin and Cameron also discussed security issues in the Middle East, including the resolution of the conflict in Syria. During the meeting, it was noted that “both countries have similar approaches in relation to the threat from ISIS and other terrorist groups operating in the region (the Middle East).”

Earlier Dmitry Peskov, presidential press secretary, said that the Ministry of Defence would determine what international experts would be invited to decrypt the recorder. ‘This will be determined by the Ministry of Defense. Putin said that the international investigation of this recorder was necessary in order to track the true trajectory and the coordinates of our aircraft before it was attacked, perform a whole range of activities in cooperation with foreign inspectors.’ Peskov also added that it was still unknown who was offered to participate in the investigation and who expressed the readiness to accept the proposal.

He also could not answer the question about whether the experts from Turkey were going to participate.
