German parliament (Bundestag) approved sending mixed regiment of German soldiers to Syria for executing an operation against the terrorist group DAESH. 445 deputies of 598 present voted “For”, 146 MPs voted “Against”. Seven abstained.
The bill was approved, first of all, by the voices of deputies from the ruling coalition parties in Germany – the CDU/CSU and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). The opposition Left Party voted against the participation of the Bundeswehr (German army) in the operation . Most ‘green’ deputies also opposed the bill.
