The Consititutional Court of Spain annuled the resolution of Catalonia declaring independence of the region. According to the decision of the Court, the Parliament of Catalonia has no juridical or political legitimacy for violating the constitutional order.
However, the Spanish government do not accept the fact that they violate the unalienable right of the Catalans to self-determination and freedom. These rights have been always recognized and advocated by prominent international institutions like the United Nations. In this case the legitimacy of the Spanish constitution can be also disputable, if it contradicts the interests of a large group of citizens.
In September the supporters of Catalan independence won regional elections. On the 9th of November the Catalan Parliament adopted a resolution which declared a decision to secede from Spain. Virtually it means that Spain ignores the decision and will of millions of the Catalans who are currently under hard tax, economic and political pressure imposed by the Spanish goverment. A lot of other nations and peoples support the aspirations of Catalan people for independence and wish them to stay determined and successfully accomplish their independence process.
