Russia and the Anti-Globalization movement express their solidarity with the people of Syria

Published on

November 7, 2015 in Moscow, on the commemoration day of the Great October Revolution of 1917, the Anti-Globalization Movement of Russia organized a meeting with the National Union of Syrian Students. The event was organized with the help of the Syrian Embassy in the Russian Federation. The event brought together more than twenty politicians from different countries who expressed solidarity with the people of Syria, as well as an opinion that the crisis in the region should be quickly resolved. In particular, the conference was attended by the representatives of the Serbian Party “Dvery” ruled by Boshko Obradovic. The delegation of this political movement has recently visited the Republic of Crimea, which caused a sharp disapproval of the Ukrainian authorities.

Also the leaders of social and political organizations in Russia, diplomats from Venezuela, Syria, Iran, Yemen and other countries attended the meeting.

Dr. Riad Haddad, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Russian Federation, made a speech at the event.

During the meeting the participants showed on various examples that the operation of Russian airforce was aimed at helping not only the Syrian people, but also Europe. According to the speakers, the EU is now reaping the fruits of their interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state. The consequences of this policy are the millions of refugees who have invaded Europe.

The crisis and the ineffectiveness of the Western model of foreign policy were in the center of discussions, as well as a deliberately ineffective military operation against the jihadists under the guidance of the US and its allies. In fact, the main goal of the West is not to confront terrorism but to displace the legitimate leadership of Syria. The photo exhibition “Stop Violence in Yemen” became an illustration of the results of the Western intervention in the countries of the Middle East.

The Syrian delegation, represented by the Syrian Ambassador in the Russian Federation, thanked Russia for help in the fight against terrorism, and mentioned the success of Russian airforce operation in Syria. According to them, the Russian military participation has already saved lives of many Syrians.
