‘We do not aspire to leadership in Syria, we aspire to leadership in the fight against terrorism. In Syria, there can be only one leader – the Syrian people’, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said during the investment forum ‘Russia is calling’.

‘We are operating strictly under the UN Charter while coordinating our strikes with the Syrian army. For the first time, with respect to the United States and with a desire to establish a working relationship, Russia addressed to the US with a proposal of cooperation. In response we heard: ‘We are not ready,’ Putin said.

In addition, Putin stressed that Russia was accused of using its aircraft for other purposes, not for attacking ISIL positions. When the Russian military offered the United States to coordinate a plan of action against terrorists, the offer was rejected.
