The company Gazprom and China national petroleum company (CNPC) signed a Memorandum of understanding on the project of natural gas transfer from Russia to China and the construction of a pipeline from the territory of the Far East of Russia to Chinese territory.
The document was approved in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and President XI Jinping.
As told journalists the head of “Gazprom” Alexey Miller, the Memorandum relates to the construction of a third pipeline to China from the Russian Far East. Also he added that Gazprom plans to transfer to China russian gas only.
“Today we signed a Memorandum on gas supplies from the Russian Federation – from Russia’s Far East to China. The Memorandum was signed by Gazprom and our Chinese partners, CNPC,” said Miller.
He noted that in accordance with the document, Russia will construct the third gas supply route to China along with the “Eastern” and “Western” routes.
