A famous US boxer Roy Jones is going to get a russian citizenship. Yesterday he visited government residence at Crimea and had a meeting with russian president Vladimir Putin. During the meeting the absolute world champion Jones and russian president Putin discussed the development of sport, and future plans of the sportsmen in Russia. Jones told about his wish to get a russian citizenship, and the president of Russia promised to help him in resolving this question, in case the boxer is going to tie his life with Russia.

During the talk the fact that Jones wanted go in for judo in his youth turned out. And president Putin noticed, that it was right chose fore Jones to go in for boxing, because nobody has ever got such success in this sport in history.

Also Jones announced the idea, that sport can help russian and american people to lower the differences in this difficult period of relations between countries.

We can remember, that Jones is not the first western celebrity who wants to get a russian citizenship. Famous french actor Gérard Depardieu have started this trend. Also there are some famous russian sportsmen with foreign origin like sort-trackist Viktor An, who got the victory for the russian team at Sochi winter Olympic games at 2014.
