In Germany the Activists are Collecting Signatures For an End to Confrontation With Russia

Published on

According to the German civil rights movement “Solidarity”, the threat of starting a third world war is greater than ever. Therefore, “Solidarity” announced on its official website that it is going to collect signatures for a petition against the third world war.

“In the 70th anniversary of the dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the world was closer to the threshold of a nuclear war than during the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. The reason for gathering signatures is very simple – a series of pointless provocations against Russia and China. It is stated in the petition that the Obama administration and NATO expose the mankind to the danger of destruction.

As examples of provocations against Russian movement are called NATO’s eastward expansion, the US unilateral withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic MissileTreaty and the placement of missile defense systems in Poland and Romania. Moreover, Washington has intensified further production and deployment of a new generation of tactical nuclear weapons.

In response, Russia has also begun retrofitting its strategic nuclear forces, and as a result, the risk of starting a nuclear conflict, “which could destroy the earth a dozen times,” increased significantly, as the authors of the petition have mentioned. “We demand the immediate cessation of confrontation with Russia and China and a return to a political solution to all conflicts”, the petition states.
